D.El.Ed earlier known as ETE is a full-time diploma course of two years duration. A total of 2940 candidates in 34 Govt. & Private Recognized Institutes shall be admitted. The medium of instruction for all subjects/activities and examinations shall be English /Hindi.
The Syllabus of the course consists of theory papers, school experience programme, assignments, seminars, workshops and practical work etc. The distribution of course in outline is as follows:

School Experience Programme
- Every student will have to compulsorily undertake School Experience Programme for 40 working days as per NCTE & SCERT, DELHI norms, every year by all the Private Recognized Institutes.
- The students will be required to teach all the four teaching subjects viz. one language (Hindi / Urdu / Punjabi), Maths, EVS (Science) and EVS (Social Science) alongwith other subjects mentioned in the D.El.Ed curriculum during School Experience Programme (SEP).
- rrow1School Experience Programme for D.El.Ed trainees will be organized in MCD Schools/NDMC Schools/Govt. & Private Recognized Schools of Directorate of Education, GNCT of Delhi.
- The Teacher Trainees will be placed under the overall control of the respective heads of schools taken for SEP and shall perform all duties assigned to him/her in addition to the compulsory activities under SEP.
- Regular supervision, Rotational supervision will be done by the faculty of concerned recognized Private Institutions. Principal of the concerned recognized Private Institutions will also supervise and monitor the SEP as and when required.
The Rules Applicable For Teacher Trainees Studying In D.El.Ed (Diploma In Elementary Education) Courses:

D.El.Ed Diploma course is a full time two year regular course. Therefore students while pursuing D.El.Ed Diploma cannot pursue any other course, be it Regular full time/Regular part time/Correspondence or any other course while undergoing D.El.Ed Course if any one do so, his/ her D.El.Ed Diploma shall stand cancelled. |

Every Student is required to secure a minimum 85% attendance of the session in theory paper and 100% in SEP separately .Those students who do not meet the attendance criteria will not be allowed to appear in annual examination. |

The requisite attendance criteria is to be met out separately in 1st year as well as in 2nd year. |

The requirement of percentage of attendance is also to be met out afresh in case the student is retained in 1st year or 2nd year on account of any ground. |

Every student who is not allowed to take annual examination due to shortage of attendance shall have to seek readmission and repeat the entire course of 1st year or 2nd year, as the case may be. The readmission cases shall be additional to allotted seats. |

Condonation of shortage of attendance up to five (5%) may be granted by the Principal of the respective PRIVATE RECOGNIZED INSTITUTION on reasonable ground and further up to 10% attendance, on the recommendation of Principal of respective PRIVATE RECOGNISED INSTITUTION, condoned on medical ground or on any other extra ordinary ground in theory papers & in SEP separately may be condoned by Director, SCERT. No further relaxation in attendance will be allowed in any case; therefore students are directed to be more careful about attendance. |

Attendance required in school Experience Programme is 100%. No students shall be promoted from 1st year or 2nd year course if they have missed their SEP (School Experience Programme) or have less than 85% attendance in SEP after condonation or have secured less than 50% marks in SEP .Such candidates will have to take readmission in 1st year and will be required to complete and qualify the school experience Programme and all theory papers. Similarly students of 2nd year will have to take readmission in 2nd year if they have less than 85 % in SEP after condonation or have secured less than 50% marks in SEP. |

Any candidate who has got admission at later stage closure of admission., in compliance to direction of Authorities /Judiciary ,will be required to complete the minimum required attendance of the full session as indicated in aforesaid rules in theory and SEP failing which he/she will not be issued admit card for examination and he/she has to take readmission and repeat the courses as stipulated above .It being a professional course for teacher preparation, no relaxation /condonation in attendance, because of late admission ,shall be allowed. |

Students shall not be promoted to 2nd year course if they have got reappear in more than 4 paper of 1st year course. They will have to take readmission in 1st year. Similarly in 2nd year, if students get reappear in more than 4 papers, they will have to take readmission in 2nd year and complete all the courses and SEP with prescribed attendance. |

No Student shall remain absent from the Institute for more than 6 working days continuously without permission/intimation to concerned Principal, failing which the student’s name will be struck off from the Institute’s rolls, by Principal without any intimation to the concerned student. Student can give request to the concerned Principal with in 30days from the date of striking off her name, for readmission with valid reason and on the recommendation of the concerned Principal, Controller of Examination/ Director SCERT may consider the same and their orders will be the final order. No request after 30 days of striking off the name for readmission will be considered in any case. |

If the student does not pass in main examinations, student will have two chances to reappear, in addition to main exam (1 year/2 year), and if they do not pass after availing main examination and two reappear chances, they will be disqualified for award of Diploma. |
Eligibility conditions for D.El.Ed Course:
Candidate must fulfill all the eligibility condition mentioned below on the last date of submission of application form otherwise her application form will be rejected.
1. Eligibility Conditions

Candidates seeking admission to D.El.Ed course must have passed Senior School Certificate Examination(10+2) of CBSE , or its equivalent examination from any other recognized Board/University. The minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination required for admission to D.El.Ed course is 50% in aggregate. For calculating percentage of marks of 10+2 examination conducted by CBSE, best 5 subjects including, at least one language, will be considered. |

For other boards/universities, aggregate of marks in best 5 subjects including one language in which the student is required to pass for qualifying in Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent as per rules laid down by the concerned board will be considered for calculating percentage of marks. |

For calculating percentage of marks of Secondary Examination (10th) best five subjects including one language in which the student is required to pass for qualifying Secondary Examination (10th) or its equivalent as per rules laid down by the concerned board will be considered for calculating percentage of marks. |

Five percent relaxation of marks in the qualifying examination is allowed for candidates belonging and applying under the categories of Scheduled Caste OR Scheduled Tribe OR Physically Handicapped only. The candidate belonging to above mentioned three categories and having 45% marks in qualifying (10+2) exams are eligible to apply. |

In D.El.Ed Course, candidates, opting for Urdu OR Punjabi language teaching, must have passed in Urdu/Punjabi as one subject both Secondary and Senior Secondary Exams. |
2. Physical Fitness
The candidate must be in a good mental and physical health and should be free from any physical defect which is likely to interfere with his/her studies including active outdoor duties required of a teacher. Accordingly, all the candidate shall be required to submit a Medical Candidate from a Registered Medical Practitioner indicating that he/she is in good mental and physical health and sis free from any communicable disease which is likely to interfere with his/her studies including active outdoor duties required of a teacher.
3. Age Limit
The maximum age should not be more than 24 years as on 30th September of the admission year.
5 years relaxation of age in upper limit is allowed for candidates belonging and applying under the categories of scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Physically Handicapped only, subject to submission of related certificate.
Scert does not own any responsibility for any person who completes the said course late, due to reappear examination and therefore becomes ineligible for appointment as a teacher as per recruitment rules of gnct of delhi or any other recruitment organization/agencies.
4. Reservation Provisions
There is a provision for, reservation of seats for following categories:

There is provision for reservation of 85% seats, for candidates who are domicile (resident) of NCT of Delhi. A domicile certificate in this regard duly is issued by SDM of the area where candidates resides is required to be submitted by the candidate at the time of admission. For calculating 85% seats for Delhi Domicile passing from school located in NCT of Delhi, only domicile certificate issued by SDM of the area, where candidate resides in the NCT of Delhi will be considered as proof of domicile of NCT of Delhi. No other document like ration card, ID card etc. would be considered as proof of domicile of NCT of Delhi. Also a certificate from Principal of the school as documentary evidence of having passed class XII from a school of NCT of Delhi is required to be submitted at the time of admission for claming Delhi domicile. |

There is a provision of reservation of 15% seats for general category candidates who are domicile (resident) of states other than NCT of Delhi. No domicile certificate is required for these candidates. |
5. Course Fee:
Fee is to be paid quarterly and in case of withdrawal of admission, quarterly fee will be forfeited. Private Recognized Institutes are permitted to charge a maximum sum of Rs.37500.00 per year inclusive of all kinds of fees, excluding examination fee of Rs.1100/- per annum. The fee is to be paid quarterly (@ Rs.9375/- per quarter (i.e Ist Inst at Admission, IInd Inst till 5th Sep, IIIrd Inst till 5th Dec, IVth Inst till 25 Feb ) at the time of admission to the institute in which the candidate is admitted. Candidates are advised to pay prescribed fee only preferably by Cheque/ Online Mode.
Total course fee: Rs.37500/- only per annum.
Examination fee: Rs.1100/- only per annum.

It Is Made Clear To The Candidate Applying For Admission From Outside Delhi That There Is No Hostels/Residential Facility Available At Private Recognized Institutions, Delhi. The Candidates Would Be Required To Make Their Own Arrangements Of Stay In Delhi, If They Are Selected.
